Do you have trouble when you are watching what you are eating or counting calories? Do you have a treat and then have another one and before you know it, the scale is on its way up? This can happen very quickly especially around the holidays. Believe me I know, and now I’m trying to get ahead of it.
Were you consistently exercising and then you got sick, injured, lost interest, or life/work got in the way. I’ve been there.
You were on a good roll with work. You were getting all of your social media posts scheduled, you were meeting people and networking, projects were getting completed. Then bam, life got in the way.
On my hike today, I realized when I have a steep hill to conquer, I don’t look up at what is ahead, I keep looking down and taking one step at a time. Believe me, looking down, doesn’t make it any easier, but it keeps me focused on what is right in front of me. Before you know it, I’m at the top of that hill. I even wear a visor so I can’t see what’s ahead at times.
Don’t beat up on yourself, we can be our hardest critics. Be Persistent. Pick up from where you are at, and keep moving forward.
Persistence will allow you to reach your goals, and consistency will allow you to maintain them.
